IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME USING GLAZE WE RECOMMEND MAKING A PRACTICE BOARD TO GET THE FEEL FOR THE PRODUCT FIRST
Recommended mixing instructions- 4 parts glaze to 1 part paint (you can adjust the ratio as you like by using more or less of one product to another, this gives you a starting point.) This goes a long way, we recommend mixing a small batch first to see how far it goes.
There are a couple of ways to use this.
- Apply over dry paint with a brush or rag. Immediately using a dry or slightly damp rag, wipe the excess leaving a very sheer coat. The glaze will soak into the paint so you want to work quickly. A damp rag will remove more glaze making it more sheer.
- Use Meltdown Sealer over your dry paint. This will create a barrier coat between the paint and glaze allowing the glaze to sit on top of the paint making it easier to work. Apply glaze with a brush or rag, immediately remove with a dry or slightly damp rag. This will make it a bit easier to work the glaze.
YOU WILL NEED TO WAX OR SEAL YOUR PIECE AFTER IT IS DRY. SHEER BEAUTY GLAZE IS NOT A SEALER.
If you are new at using glaze we recommend starting in small sections.
